“The Panda Book Award is an annual literary promotion celebrated by more than 50 international schools across China and the world. Initiated at International School Beijing in 2008, we invite students and teachers from participating international schools in China and beyond to read and vote for their favorite book published in the previous three school years. Titles in this award, celebrate new authors and illustrators from across the globe, whose creations focus on the values of social justice inclusion and diversity.
An initial focus of the award is to shine the spotlight on Asia and China. In particular, students faculty members and parents are encouraged to read all the books shortlisted and then vote for their favorite in February, in March 2024. We are so glad your book will be shared with young readers and international schools across China.” Bec Taylor – Elementary School Librarian, International School Beijing
“Growing up in South Vietnam, Bui fled her war-torn homeland in 1975 at age eight when she and her family boarded an overcrowded ship which was ultimately rescued by the U.S. Navy. Her first home in America was a refugee camp where she spent six months. Bui has fond memories of her time at the camp and is grateful to her kind American helpers.” www.Nextavenue.org
